This week, UPTE CWA Local 9119 Healthcare Bargaining Committee has held its first bargaining sessions at the University of the President's office in downtown Oakland .

Yesterday, Article 1 Agreement, Article 2 Access, and Article 32 Release Time for Bargaining were submitted by UPTE. We also submitted our proposal for a new article not currently in our contract: Fair and Respectful Treatment. The University responded to Article 3 Arbitration; Article 6 Corrective Action, Discipline and Discharge; and Article 8 Grievance Procedure that UPTE had previously submitted.

Today, 6 articles were submitted by UPTE CWA. These were: Article 4 Campus Closure; Article 10 Holidays; Article 26 Personnel Files; Article 27 Positions; Article 29 Professional Development and Education Leave; and Article 30 Reasonable Accommodation.

Your bargaining committee will be continuing to work on new contract language to submit at our next bargaining session. We are scheduled to meet again on the UCSF campus, May 8, 9, and 10. Contact the local UCSF UPTE office for more information: 415-753-8783.
