UPTE is the non-exclusive representative for UC's professional employees who are not covered by a union contract. All non-academic professional employees who are not represented by another union can join UPTE. Here's a list of some of the job titles eligible for voluntary membership in UPTE. This is a critical time for employees without the protection of a union contract.

• Salaries for UC professionals have taken a nose dive from the competitive ones they once were.
• UC's pension plan is in a precarious position after recent years of questionable investment policy.
• The University continues to shift more of the cost of healthcare benefits to employees.
